“The Nines strikes me as a place undergoing a genuine revival, balancing its Victorian bones with contemporary updates. Its waterfront location promises views of Belfast Lough, and I suspect the renovated rooms are the real draw here. It's a spot to watch closely as it evolves, particularly if you value that blend of history and prime location.”

The Nines enjoys a superb location in Bangor, with many guests appreciating its proximity to the marina, shops, and transport, as well as the Bangor train station being only a 12-minute walk away. Many rooms are spacious, some offering lovely sea views, and the recently renovated rooms overlooking the seafront are particularly impressive. The breakfast is often described as delicious and substantial; however, a few guests have mentioned rooms facing the back might have less appealing views.

The location proved convenient with nearby free parking. I could see my car from the window. I received an upgrade, VERY much enjoyed my new room. The shower had great water pressure, once I understood its operation.
The receptionist seemed unhappy. She stated policy prevented room access before 3 pm even though it was ready. The room was not refurbished. It was a double instead of the booked triple. DIRTY cups were in the room.

Lisa checked me in quickly and gave me my key! the room was very clean and airy. the food in the restaurant was excellent. I had chicken wings and smoked cod. the staff was polite and courteous.
The chicken burger i had was hard to find under the cremated breadcrumbs, oh dear. the fries were thin, twice. my wife's caesar salad needed more grilling on the chicken, and the salad was dry. the beef burger lacked flavour. Altogether it was a poor experience.

Superb Bangor Stay!

helpful staffsuite upgradeconvenient deliveryunbeatable price
I appreciated the helpful staff who assisted with late check-in. I was also happy with the surprise upgrade to a suite on Thursday. The staff delivered my takeout order directly to my suite which was very convenient. The price was unbeatable considering the location and the amenities provided.
The room had a frosted window without much of a view. That was a slight disappointment.
Rooms
9/10
My room was spacious and included expected amenities for a short visit. The decor was lovely, and the bed was REALLY comfortable. The provided shower was also particularly fabulous with excellent water pressure.
Facilities
8/10
The location offered a view overlooking the marina and the coastline. There were many independent cafes within walking distance providing choice. The hotel restaurant was also very busy , offering a good alternative.
Service
10/10
Lauren offered a polite and professional welcome upon check-in. Lisa made the check-out simple and straightforward which was greatly appreciated. The team as a whole was friendly and helpful, a welcome change.

A Perfect Sunday Roast at the Seafont

window tabledelicious broccolibuttery mash
My wife and I secured a window table, a fine spot to watch the chefs at work. The two-course Sunday Roast menu was priced at £27 per person. We ordered the house Cabernet Sauvignon. It was soft and fruity. We shared Tempura Tender stem broccoli, with miso mayo and peanut rayu. My wife enjoyed Sirloin beef while I chose the Lamb rump. It arrived with potatoes, mash, vegetables, and Yorkshire pudding.
The en-suite bathroom lacked thorough cleanliness upon our arrival.
Location

The hotel's position allowed convenient access to nearby amenities. It sits quietly on the seafront, a short walk from the town's main streets. Many bars and restaurants are only minutes away.
